Sengkang sports and recreation facility is located in Anchorvale, Sengkang Singapore. Sengkang sports and recreation Centre was formerly known as a Sengkang sports complex. The main aim of this project was aimed at regeneration systems to improve sports facilities in Singapore.
Sengkang Sports and Recreation Centre at Parc Botania
This project was built in an aim to improving amenities in the constituency of Pasir Ris- Punggol and Sengkang new town. The project is worthy S$ 1 billion. This project was planned and implemented by Singapore sports council and people’s association. The funds for construction were initiated at the grassroots by local leaders. This project was intended to be constructed by 2004, although it construction began in 2006. The project was complete by the end of 2007.The facility was officially opened in 1st august 2008. Parc Botania by Wee Hur Development and Sing Development is located at Fernvale Road next to Thanggam LRT Station. It is also near to Sengkang MRT Station.
Sengkang sports and recreation Centre has several facilities. The facility is situated on 4 ha land next to Sungei Punggol. Sengkang sports and recreation Centre has several features. These features includes: community club, 4 swimming pools, 5 water slides, soccer and hockey pitch, indoor sport hall.
Parc Botania Wee Hur Development and Sing Development Sengkang
The community club is one of its kind, the first one to be constructed besides a river in Singapore and also to be located and includes a sports complex. The club houses playrooms, study area, café, eating outlets and multipurpose hall.
The swimming is also in operation and it has seen big number of people using it. The swimming pool is usually closed on Monday for maintenance.it usually operates on Tuesday- Sunday from 0800 hours to 2130 hours. This swimming facility has three level slides. These includes: multi-coloured slides, which has a four riders at a time capacity, tunnel slide and speed slide.
Parc Botania New Launch at Fernvale Road
In addition to this, sports complex is linked to artificial island which will be operational in future. The management of Sengkang sports and recreation Centre aims at managing natural environment with an aim of making the river bank clean and non-polluted. The park will connect a landscaped pavements for cyclists and pedestrians.
This sports Centre is managed by sports Singapore and its operators engage the public. This helps the management to run the facility with public interests in mind. This facility is one of its kind in Singapore and attractive to the general public.
